Dear Lonnie,
Thank you for your interest in BitVisor. BitVisor is basically research software and is often used for special purposes. So I believe ordinary users are unlikely to use it directly, but students and developers will use it for their own projects.
We ourselves are also still doing research projects using BitVisor, but they are unrelated to VPN so we do not follow that part now. I think other researchers using BitVisor (if there are any) are also busy with their own research.
I know several previous studies by third parties using BitVisor, but they have never asked us questions in the MLs, so I assume they have solved the problems by themselves by reading and writing the source code.
I personally would be happy If the BitVisor community becomes active. The main developer, Mr. Eiraku, often answers questions and will be happy to participate in discussions related to the essential parts of BitVisor. However, I think it is difficult to keep doing the support of using BitVisor on a volunteer basis. So basically we would have to make an effort to read and write the source code ourselves to solve the problem.
One possibility is that his company sells a product based on BitVisor, so if you want to make your software into a product, it might be a good idea to negotiate a formal contract with his company to get the support.
Best regards,
Takahiro Shinagawa

I did not want to take up all of his time in answering my questions and receiving what I think is a bug in the Wireguard code that crashes out Bitvisor, but it seems that he is the only one that is active on the mailing lists and I want to try to get an idea as to how active these list are so that I will not post many questions if everyone is too busy or there are not a lot of users.
