<p class="MsoNormal">I am having some problems booting a windows 8 system under bitvisor on the Dell Vostro 3460 machine that I now have for my investigations and testing.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">It fails in the same way as booting windows on my Lenovo test machine.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">This machine has a Phoenix Secure Tiano UEFI firmware which I have set up to boot in legacy BIOS mode.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">My current thoughts are that INT 13 used by the the windows boot manager is failing due the UEFI firmware handling this in SMM of the Intel core i5 processor as mentioned in a response to a previous post of mine.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">In order to progress my project I need to solve this problem: perhaps intercept the INT 13 calls in the bitvisor VMM to decrypt reads of the data.
